New Ulm’s oldest industry, the August Schell Brewing Company was founded in 1860 and is now in the sixth generation of continuous family operation. Schell’s brews have won many national and international brewing honors. The brewery also offers a walking garden, Museum of Brewing, Gift Shop and brewery tours. Schell’s Brewery is Minnesota’s oldest brewery, and the second-oldest family-owned brewery in the U.S.
